I can't remember him giving the spiel to me.

He saw this and only wanted to correct me on the Microsoft keyboard. He hates the natural keyboards.

You never heard Alex justify his reasons for Dvorak? I must have heard him give me the spiel at least 20 times. I did enjoy this entry though - it was like a trip down memory lane.

I was just having the Dvorak conversation today - spurred by TYPEWRITERS, of all things. I've been a Dvorak user since 2001. I switched when I was at a VERY boring job, and I completely agree that it's like rewiring your brain. In fact, I think one of the chief motivations for switching was the challenge it presented.

I, too, have though a bunch about switching back recently. For one thing, I haven't switched the layout of my iPhone to Dvorak. It's QWERTY, but it's thumb-typing qwerty, so it doesn't really mess with my muscle memory.

Anyway, enjoyed the post.

Been trying Mog for a few days now. Found it pretty thin on some more obscure releases (like the new Breakage). Also, the new Shooter Jennings is listed as his collaborator Hierophant.

The Radio feature can be confusing too because it's on by default.

If you're not an Anime fan and quirky chirpy JRPG characters grind on your nerves you might want to steer clear.

Sure every time the "Jock" melee character in FFXIII says something about "Heroes gotta do X" my brain throws up a red flag but the scenery, and depth of the tragedy going on around him keeps me drawn on... so far.

I agree though, the 40 hours is daunting. Given the style of the gameplay I get the feeling it could have easily fit into 20 hours. Mass Effect 2 hit that sweet spot for me. Less is more.

I think there's a case to be made here about quality versus quantity here.

With advertising, Google Search has a much more active base. If I search for "combat boots" on Google it's pretty likely that I may be ready to buy combat boots. And if I'm a company selling combat boots I want my product to be at the top.

But on Facebook - well, if I'm looking for combat boots will I be searching for combat boots on Facebook? Maybe, but only if I have friends I know are combat boot afficianados. Do I even have combat boots listed in my interests? That's the only way Facebook advertisers will know I want combat boots.

Social is one thing. Search is another thing. I think facebook has a lot of traffic because they've done a good job of creating a Pavlov's dog drooling effect on its users. But Google has a lot of traffic because, well - it's Google. They're synonymous with finding information.

You seek information on Google. It drops in your lap on Facebook whether you want it or not.

I agree with your position here.

Then this morning I read this and thought I'd come back and post it. See what you think.

Does it just mean social overtaking search? That if/when Facebook tumbles, it's replacement will/must be larger. I suppose that makes common sense. While lots of Internet power users can list the services they've hopped across over the years: IRC, ICQ, MSN, Myspace, FB, Twitter, Google Chat (Buzz, whatever), Skype.

BUT, for lots of Facebooks millions of users, I'm sure Facebook was a gateway.

Well, no one had Facebook before they had email. Tangent how email continues on a parallel plane, because it is simple and reliable.

Ahh, i digress. "Post Comment."

Is anyone having trouble getting the entire Unread list onto the Kindle? I'm getting only the top 1-4. I know about the 20-article limit, but I can't get more than four.
