“Most don’t know how to maximize the music purchased from iTunes”

From an iTunes Store review of the Pretty Hate Machine remaster.

This was my first Nine Inch Nails CD 10 years ago and now I bought it today on iTunes! The quality of the audio that I’m used to is digital remasters from studios to iTunes AAC 256-Kbps MPEG-4 Audio that to me sounds better than CDs that are 16-bit/44.1Khz. I had set my Mac Digital Output to 24-bit/96KHz in Audio Midi Setup. Most don’t know how to maximize the music purchased from iTunes. This made it sound completely awesome with my surround sound! If you are a Nine Inch Nails fan buy this today it’s truly worth it.

That’s not true. If you tell your Mac to output audio at 96khz/24-bit audio everything doesn’t just magically sound better.

One of my friends used to rip his CDs at 48k to maximize his iTunes music, and by maximize I mean unnecessarily bloat the size of his library.
