New RSS Software Are Really Google Reader Clients

Man, there are so many cool apps to read stuff on iPhones.

Like Byline and Reeder. Both feature Google Reader integration with starring and sharing.

On the Mac I usually go between Google Reader and NetNewsWire, although I’ve been with Google Reader for nearly 6 months because NetNewsWire hasn’t completely caught up with all the things I can do on Google Reader (sharing, sending to other websites, notes, liking, recommendations, etc).

And there’s the disconnect.

NetNewsWire is an RSS reader that syncs with Google Reader. All this cool iPhone software I see but don’t use (I don’t have an iPhone) are Google Reader clients.

That’s how much Google owns RSS reading.
