This is a topic that I wondered about last year when Kindercore said they’d be going digital-only where possible.
From what I remember, besides delivering a format that your audience can actually consume, one of the main problems with going digital-only is figuring out how you sell your music at shows.
I think for any of my personal projects I’ll be going digital-only, but I don’t intend on making most of my income as a musician either.
