Awesome Overview of MarsEdit 2.1

Shawn Blanc has an awesome write up of my favorite blog editor, MarsEdit – which just reached 2.1.

Shawn uncovered a feature that I’ve been underusing. It should be obvious once you reach the bottom of this post.

…Now if you find a sweet article in Safari, and you want to write about that article on your [...]

XKCD Author Endorses Obama

Hey, if he likes him, and Lessig likes him, then I like him too.

Obama has shown a real commitment to open government. When putting together tech policy (to take an example close to home for xkcd) others might have gone to industry lobbyists. Obama went to Lawrence Lessig, founder of Creative Commons (under which [...]

If You’re Reading This You’re Probably a Man/Boy

Interesting piece on 20-30 year old men and the hybrid state of “Child-Man.”

…meet the 21st-century you, also 26. You’ve finished college and work in a cubicle in a large Chicago financial-services firm. You live in an apartment with a few single guy friends. In your spare time, you play basketball with your buddies, download the [...]

Following yesterday’s Office 2008 post, it looks like someone has set up a Flickr group for OfficeMac 2008 Annoyances

And about that post, I don’t want to pretend that the MacBU just took a vacation between 2004 and 2008. Exchange support in Entourage ‘04 got better with various updates throughout the past [...]

Entourage ‘08 and Something About How You Should Eat Your Own Dog Food

Last summer I asked if the MacBU was getting unfairly pounded I gave the MacBU the benefit of the doubt. Back in August we just didn’t know what we do now.

With the release of Office 2008, I think it now shows just how out of touch the MacBU is with the needs of Mac users. [...]

Bionic Commando Remake Looks Badass

I remember playing Bionic Commando as a kid and wishing a had a robotic arm.

You couldn’t jump in Bionic Commando, but you had a kickass mechanical arm that could grab ledges, swing you around, and keep you from falling to your death.

If you feel like wishing that you had robotic arms, check out the Bionic [...]

Logic Pro Now Most Popular Apple Pro-App?

Take a look at the Apple Store’s software section.

At the time of this post, Logic Studio is #12 in rank by top selling Apple Software applications.

Among full, Pro apps (not counting Express versions), it is number 1.

It’s higher on this list than Aperture and Final Cut Studio.

I think Logic’s days of being Apple’s red-headed stepchild [...]

VJ-Ing The Karate Kid

Create Digital Music has posted a live remix of The Karate Kid. The video was shown at a party that CDM recently held.

From the description it seems like this was run with the help of some MIDI abilities that [...]

Jamie Lidell’s New Album – Just Call Him Jim

Looks like Jamie Lidell is set for a 2008 release. Check out this performance of Little Bit of Feel Good off Jim.

Looks like he’s got a full band now…I’m not sure how I feel about that. I loved Multiply (my favorite record of 2005) because of its fusion with electronic and soul, but it looks [...]

HomeTracked is running a great list of rookie audio engineering questions:

7. How do I use this $1,200 plugin that I just happen to have installed on my machine? Answer: You read the manual, which comes with the software when you buy it legally.
