New Logic Pro on September 5th?

Although next week’s Apple event on September 5th will definitely bring in new iPods, there’s the possibility that they’ll introduce the new Logic/Apple DAW.

I’m skeptical because Logic 7 had no fanfare, and why would Apple want to talk about Pro software during a consumer announcement? Maybe Logic will get a little square at the bottom of Apple’s homepage below a big splash of touchscreen iPods.

Perhaps this event is meant to position Apple as a musician’s solution; make your music on a Mac, listen to your music on an iPod?

Apple will use the Moscone West hall for this announcement. This is the same hall that the Macworld keynote is in. Sounds like whatever is going on will be big.

In the meantime, it looks like Logic 8 is heavily anticipated. 9 To 5 Mac has o poll with Logic 8 in second place as an announcement besides iPods and FutureMusic thinks a Logic 8 announcement is “very likely”.

 1. It is not coming out for a while, there was a delay in the product due to coding problems and bugs – they also had to cut down the size of the sample library because the current macbook pros and macbooks hard disks were not up to the task.

It will probably debut at Winter NAMM and is certainly going to be Leopard only.
