Have You Ever REALLY Had Tea?

I enjoy a cup of tea once in a while, which is why I was interested by some article I read.

It was talking about how Americans just can’t understand why the English go nuts over tea and why it’s so important to the culture over there. The reason why we don’t understand?

Most Americans have never had a properly made cup of tea.

When I make tea I’ve usually done it 2 ways: 1. Boil water, put water in tea cup/mug, add tea bag, brew for 3-5 minutes, add sugar/honey/milk/lemon. 2. Microwave tea cup/mug of water for 2:22 (just press 2 for a while), add tea bag, brew for 3-5 minutes, add sugar/honey/milk/lemon.

I was always taught to do method #2, but method #1 is apparently not any better.

Making tea isn’t rocket science, but it’s not quite as simple as I originally thought.

If you need help with making your tea, try Cuppa. It’s a tea timer for your Mac. Choose which tea you are brewing and it will alert you when it’s ready. It doesn’t tell you when to pour your water, or add sugar/milk/lemon/honey, but it does tell you how long to do nothing.

Also, whenever I think of tea I think of Morrissey, and when I think of Morrissey I think of a dream in which Morrissey died and I called up Jen to talk about it. Jen also likes tea and when i think of tea I think of Morrissey, and whenever I think of Morrissey I think of a dream in which Morrissey died and I called up Jen to talk about it. Jen also likes tea and when i think of tea I think of Morrissey…and so on.

 1. Ever since my Bro got back from China (the second time) he’s gotten me hooked on Oolong tea. I usually have 2 cups a night from my very retro teapot that I got on a very good sale. I’ll never forget in my freshman speaking class that I took in my last year in Potsdam :) That there was this Korean girl whose topic was Green tea. She freaking swore her life by that stuff.

”Green tea will make you not fat, it cures cancer and will grow back lost limbs! DRINK IT! DRINK IT RIGHT NOW!!” She then preceeded to throw green tea bags at us. Needless to say she got a 4.0 in the class b/c the teacher feared her.
